Sigrid

Born Sigrid Gurie Haukelid on the 18th May 1911 in Brooklyn, New York... Actress and also very talented painter... sigrid Gurie married three times all sadly ended in divorce... Sigrid was loved by all who knew her with the exception of her twin brother whom she was estranged from due to his heartless cruelty towards her... Sigrid died on the 14th August 1969.....

Anna Sten

Born in Russia on the 3rd December 1908... Annel Sudakevich...Anna studied at the Russian Film Academy, she stared in many Russian silent films. It was in a German film though that she gained recognition which lead to her going onto Hollywood...Anna married twice the first ending in divorce the second until her death on the 12th November 1993.....

Ketti

Ketti Gallian born on the 25th December 1912 in Nice, France... Ketti gained success as a chorus girl on the London stage in the West End production of ' The Ace ' ...She went on to make a number of films... She passed away in the December of 1972 , aged just fifty nine.....

Dorothy

Dorothy Burgess born on the 4th March, 1907 in Los Angeles California USA...Professional dancer and leading lady on Broadway at the age of seventeen. Dorothy was also a starlet of the silver screen...In 1932 Dorothy suffered a nervous breakdown that ended with her being placed in a sanatorium for a time after her car collided with another vehicle killing the seventeen year old passenger, Dorothy never got over this...Dorothy passed away on the 20th August 1961 from tuberculosis she was fifty four.....

' Tie me down '

Please forgive the title I don't wish you too think something untoward is taking place here, heaven forbid... Nothing to racy may I add ( I apologise to those whom may have got their hopes up).  I love to wear neck ties. Be they cross over ties, dickie bows, tie,ties, or as they are now called lady ties even scarf ties. I love ties...I have even worn belts as ties. I think they always add a little something to the outfit. So now you know I really like ties... Does any one else share this like?

'There was a little girl who had a little curl'

Curls, don't you just love them ( that is unless you simply adore poker straight hair and swear by your trusty straighting irons). I have naturally thick wavy hair, but to achieve the vintage look I too have to set my hair... All ladies have their own devices for this. In the past I have curled my hair overnight with rags and stockings (may I add old and of course washed!) I now prefer to use either Kirby grips or my favourites good old sponge rollers...Sponges I get a much tighter set that lasts a whole lot longer, with Kirby grips/bobby pins I don't seem to keep the curls as long.But I still use them also... Many ladies prefer the heated appliances, this is not an option for me,as with thick hair they tend to make it fried and frizzy,no matter what I use to protect it... Well dear ladies what do you use and what do you prefer?
