Gentleman Buchanan
I just adore watching this gentleman, be it in song or dance...Walter Jack Buchanan born 2ND April 1891 in Scotland...British theatre and film director, singer dancer and producer...The debonair man about town...He was legendary in his financial kindness and generosity...He would each year charter a excursion train to the Grand National Races for all the cast and crew, paying for everything, even giving them £5 to flutter on the horse of their choice...He was happy just to see others happy...He also provided financial support to John Logie Baird in his work to develop the mechanical television...A gentleman to the end...He suffered from spinal arthritis but never let this stop him performing his dance routines, several were with Fred Astaire. The pair are absolute magic to watch.....Sadly he died from spinal cancer on October the 20Th 1957 aged just 66.....He now dances with angels.....

I had no idea who this generous gentleman was, so thank you as always for the wonderful post! I am sure he is dancing with angels, as he was an angel too :) and he was quite handsome too! Thank you for your comment on my post as well.

Wow, that's so interesting. I didn't know of his extraordinary generosity. He was a good actor, I wish he could have made more films.
