The Sarong Girl
Born on the 10Th December 1914 in New Orleans Louisiana USA... Mary Leta Dorothy Slaton. American film actress Dorothy Lamour... Her dream was to become a singer not a actress. Dorothy was vocalist with the Herbie Kay Band, she also sang for Rudy Vallee amongst others.. Her unique beauty, talent and charm soon found her snapped up into the movies where she starred in many movies and made the memorable 'Road to' alongside Bob Hope and Bing Crosby... Dorothy married twice and had two children she passed away on the 22ND September 1996 from a heart attack.....
